Good morning Logos Family First, I would like to give a huge THANK YOU to Mrs. Fitzer's 7th/8th Grade students and Mrs. Fitzer. I have been looking at our playground lately and wishing there was a way to clean it up and eliminate the need to retrieve the balls being kicked behind the fence. I started removing some of the fencing while watching lunch recess and all of a sudden the 7/8 grade students are saying "Mr. Slentz, do you need some help?" I said "Sure" and we were off and running. The students then suggested they use their Study Hall/PE period to help move all the extra playground equipment and the big fence, and we moved it all, by hand, within that one period. This is just one example of the quality of students we have attending Logos and is a reflection of the quality of the families involved in this great school! WHAT A TEAM! It was probably a good thing to use some physical energy :-) Our staff and students have been involved with IOWA Testing all week. This is always a little stressful for students and staff but it certainly provides real insight into the progress of our students and assists our staff in filling in any gap**s that might exist. **It is hard to believe but the end of the school year is upon us. The l*ast day of school and Graduation is May 22*. Kindergarten promotion ceremonies will begin at 8:15 am followed by 8th Grade Graduation ceremonies at 9:00 am Thursday May 22nd. The UPLIFT folks have asked me to include a Friendly Reminder. "Teacher Appreciation Week is next week May 5-8. There are many ways to make your teacher feel special. Need some ideas see the "We Love Our Teacher Binder" in the front office. Or help UPLIFT with our Teacher Appreciation Luncheon on Tuesday, May 6th See track it forward to signup." Help us celebrate the end of the school year with our annual Logos Field Day! UPLIFT needs lots of help to make this a fun special event happen for our kiddos. Come join the fun! Visit Track it Forward to sign up. Field Day May 21 9am-12pm Looking forward to these and other fun activities, listed below, happening in the very near future!
- If you haven't submitted your students' Intent to Return forms please do so as soon as possible to secure a spot for your child for next year. We are researching and ordering curriculum, workbooks etc. for next year and need an idea of how many students we will have returning.
- We still have a few Intent to Return forms that have not been received. If you need a new form, please email me or Lisa and we will attach one to an email for you.
Yearbooks are now on sale. Please see the attached Flyer
- Now that we have moved the interior fences and all the playground equipment we are still looking for someone that has access to a front end loader or tractor with a bucket. We need to move about 5 yards of wood chips from the playground area to the wood chip pile at the west end of Mod 1. Estimate it would only take an hour or so.
Hope you have a blessed weekend. Bill
