Thoughts from the Headmaster
If you are reading this, I just want to say thank you! I know you all are incredibly busy, but communication between school and home is very important. We sincerely appreciate you staying informed about what is happening at school.
We are excited to share that to date, we have 21 new students joining our school next year! I know that you all will make them feel welcome and at home with the Logos family! We have some spots left in K-2nd grade and 7th/8th, but are pretty much at max in 3rd-6th grade. Pass the word if you have friends who are thinking of applying.
As we are slowly moving towards summer break and a time when students will be home, I thought it would be timely to share with you some parenting tips about video games. We know that children love their video games and as a parent who raised 2 boys, I understand. Please take the time to peruse the article “Protect Your Children from Video Game Addiction” by Oliva and Kurt Bruner:
“Video games are so popular among kids and teens that it seems like a normal activity for you to support as a parent. If your children play video games, you may be screening the content carefully to try to reduce their exposure to objectionable material like sex and violence. But even if your kids are playing the tamest games on the market, they can still suffer great harm from video games. That’s because video games are designed to be addictive – and they steal valuable time and energy away from your kids that could otherwise be used for healthy chlldhood activities. Here’s how you can protect your children from video game addiction…. (please see the attached complete article for important information).
Blessings,
Pam Duarte
